Create Your Own Vector Portrait Using Adobe Illustrator

Create a vector portrait using Adobe Illustrator. By Mark-Anthony Karam

This is a video playlist of my lesson on ‘creating a vector portrait’ using Adobe Illustrator. During my Design 1 course, students use Illustrator to create a vector portrait of themselves while practicing Illustrator’s drawing tools, colouring options and effects to compose a multi-layered vector illustration.

Watch the videos and share your vector portrait with me on Twitter or Instagram @iTeachAi or leave a comment below.

    Hello,
I wanted to create one of my own vectors. But I am having problems doing the mouth part. And your tutorial is only up to the eyes part. You helped me a lot. So I am wondering when you can maybe show the mouth and eye brows part of the portrait.
    Thanks.

Hi! You can use a combination of the blob brush and pen tool for the mouth. Similar technique to the hair. Fill in the main shape of the teeth and mouth with the blob brush and then add highlights, shadows, and finer details of the lips with the pen tool. 😉 🔑
